In this article about the Market Watch, we’ll explore this key component of the VolFix trading and analytical platform, its main features, and some practical applications in volume analysis.
Note: the Market Watch window shown in the screenshots may look slightly different on your screen. This could be due to updates in the software or specific user settings previously configured. Either way, the core functionality remains unchanged, and we’re always happy to assist if you have any questions about configuration.
Let’s begin with the overall view. What do we see when we look at the “Market Watch” window?
We see a large table with rows displaying basic information about selected financial instruments. In this example, we have futures on the S&P 500, NASDAQ, EUR/USD, European stock indices, cryptocurrencies, U.S. stocks, and more. Each column displays data corresponding to its header: current price, trading volume, daily high and low, etc. In the current setup of the Market Watch window, all available columns are enabled.
By right-clicking on any row, a context menu will appear, allowing you to:
- Move a row up or down
- Delete a row
- Add an empty row
- Change the row color
- Clear all rows
Naturally, if you can delete a row, you must also be able to add one. To add a financial instrument, look for the “Symbol” field located at the top-left of the window. Here, you can choose a ticker from your platform’s available list. Simply double-click the ticker to add it as the last line in your list.
If this is your first time using VolFix and you haven’t yet searched for or added any instruments, the Symbol field will initially appear empty. This is not an issue. Simply start typing the letters of your desired ticker. The platform will display a list of all available instruments that contain those letters. For example, typing “ET” will bring up a list of cryptocurrencies, U.S. stocks, and futures containing “ET” in their symbol.
Over time, as you search for tickers and build charts, VolFix will remember your queries, and the Symbol field will populate with your history. This applies not only to the Market Watch window but to all sections of the platform that include a Symbol field.
What else is in the “Market Watch” window?
At the very bottom, you’ll find details about your current active license. For instance, in the screenshot, it says “License 22 Sep 2025” in the lower-left corner. This means the platform can be used through September 22 (inclusive), but on September 23, the license will need to be renewed.
You can renew your license directly from here by clicking the license date. A new window, “BUY VOLFIX LICENSE” will appear. There, you’ll select the exchanges you want access to, choose the license duration, and optionally enter a promo code if you have one. The final cost will be displayed in USD or EUR. After agreeing to the terms, you’ll submit a request for platform access. Instructions for payment will be sent to the email you used during registration.
